Increase Traffic and Monetize Your WordPress Blog
Category: Blogging, WordPressHave you heard of wp-plugins.net, the open source community project called the ‘WordPress Plugin Database’.
The Wordpress Plugin Database provides a list of categorized plugins along with a WordPress Plugin Manager that allows for one-click installations. Having visited the site I was surprised by how well laid out the site was. It took a bit of time to work out how to access the content though.
There is so much content I am not even going try to list it all. However some of the plugins appear to be very handy. I have listed a few here that I may try. Once I have trialled them I will write another review to their value. I have cheated a little here by copy/pasting the text for each plugin mentioned.
Clean Trunks provides SEO Friendly URLs for post and page slugs automatically. This plugin does smart trunking on word boundaries to a configurable maximum number of characters. `Smart trunking` is achieved by use of an updateable keyword stoplist to help create those perfect SEO urls automatically.
This plugin allows you to upload a plugin or a theme without using FTP. You upload the zip file from the dashboard, and OneClick unzips it in the correct folder, saving you tons of time.
Transform your blog into an automated posting tool by syndicating with multiple RSS feed sources!
AdSense Manager is a Wordpress plugin for managing AdSense ads on your blog. It generates code automatically and allows positioning with Widgets.
Google Sitemap Generator for Wordpress
This generator will create a Google Sitemaps compliant sitemap of your WordPress blog.
There are also 150 themes, styles and layouts. I could spend all night on this site just sifting through what I think may be handy. Other plugins include WP Commerce Lite shopping cart, Simple Forum, WP Link Directory, Spam Karma 2 and PodPress.
