WTF – Google must be mad

By , January 12, 2008 10:54 am

Google must be mad. I have three blogs running. This one, My Radical Blogs. My second blog is Just 4 Families and my third blog is CoolAyla. Now those that regularly visit my blogs will know that I post at least once a day on the Radical Blogs site. The Just 4 Families site, well I probably post every three or four days. My CoolAyla site, well in three months I have made six posts – the last of them yesterday (just in case you have given up visiting for lack of content).

Now look at this. My Radical Blogs has an Alexa of around 170k. Has quite a few backlinks these days – I haven’t checked lately how many – but I do know it is quite a few. My Just 4 Families has an Alexa of around 340K with a quite a few back links as well. My CoolAyla site has hardly any back links, an Alexa of around 710k and very low visitor count – probably around 20 per day.

My Radical Blogs – PR zero. Just 4 Families – PR zero. CoolAyla – PR 3. Work that out. Only 6 posts that are not exactly great. Poor traffic. Poor linkage. Pretty darn good PR. Now I know I write paid posts although at present not for PPP on my just 4families and my radical blogs sites. I cannot argue with the zero PR there (well I can and do argue with the concept), however it really beats me how my CoolAyla site can get a PR of 3.

I don’t normally swear – but seriously – WTF are Google doing and how are they really ranking sites. I know in my own heart that there are plenty of 1 and 2 sites that are better than mine. In fact I am only playing with that site at present – I don’t view the blog or its content very seriously at all – hence the lack of postings. In fact I am still trying to work out what I really want to do with it. Perhaps I should get my post numbers up to 20 and apply for PPP. With a PR of 3 I would probably make a couple of bucks before I got canned.

Has any one else noticed some unusual rankings, particularly nothing sites like mine that are scoring well? I would love to know.

Another day another blog review. First, thanks to the many who have stopped by either here, one of my other sites or at BlogCatalog to wish me a happy birthday – I appreciate all of your comments. I also appreciate those who have requested reviews. Without your support I would not have anything to do. Continue reading 'Daily Blog Review Digest 2.5'»
