Updating A Site Is Never Fun
Updating a site is never much fun and I still haven’t finished. If you can recommend a good provider of WordPress themes let me know. I want something similar to this - a little lighter on code, faster to load, and perhaps lighter in color. The one thing I want most themes don’t seem to have and that is comments enabled on pages. If I have to pay - so be it.
As to upgrading - what is your opinion - dark themes such as this one, or the new look ‘white’ themes that seem to be cropping up everywhere? Please do let me know - I am in two minds.
While your here, check out the video - kinda how I feel after doing some updating that didn’t quite go well - ever notice it takes 1 minute to create chaos and hours to reverse it??????

A new theme sounds good mate, definetly use a theme with a light colored background. Personally dark themes drive me crazy! cheers good luck

When i start to do an update the first thing I do is to make a copy to a disc, if i stuff it up I can always re-install it, and start all over again…

Personally I think your theme is fine but I would go with a lighter ‘Post’ background. As far as the commenting part, I recently started using ‘Disqus.com’ and I am very pleased with it. It allows for more personal interaction between you and your reader. Here is my review if you want to check it out

You can’t go wrong with a white background. Colored backgrounds are subject to color variations based on individual visitor monitor settings, many people can’t read white text on dark backgrounds because of their contrast settings (or monitor age).
Before you go getting a “new” theme though, you do realise that the colors are chosen via the stylesheet… so simply changing the colors on THIS theme can accomplish what you want. A theme is just a stylesheet in reality, play with it until you’re happy. You’ll get good at it and never look back.
I don’t think i’ve had a “stock” theme ever, then again, if you follow the path most trodden…
