Web Hosting Package I Highly Recommend – So Does WordPress

Web Hosting Package I Highly Recommend

I have spent quite a long time searching for a web hosting package that really meets my needs. I don’t have many. Number one for me is reliability. At present I would estimate my down time to be around 20%. With today’s technology, that’s terrible.

just host bannerMy second criteria was that I needed to host around 10 sites. My third criteria was speed and finally of course – price.

After doing the research I selected JustHost. I opened up an account with them and put up a blog. It is a nothing blog, my aim was to first test their up time. After six weeks, so far it has been 100%. Speed – pretty quick actually – I was surprised. But then this server is so slow.

Okay, so what do you get. Let’s just say unlimited. Unlimited space, bandwidth, email accounts, databases, and domains. Price – I am actually paying far less than what I am paying now for a service which is measurably much better.

You also get a few extra like Site Builder, Google credits, Yahoo credits and a money back guarantee. I also discovered today that JustHost is on the official WordPress list of approved web hosts – that for me has been the final key – if WordPress nominate them as a reliable web host then that is good enough for me.

I will now start to migrate my sites across to the new hosts – that is where the fun begins because I have no idea where to start. Still – that is what learning is all about isn’t it.

If your looking for a decent web host then I suggest you check out JustHost. From what I can see they have offices in the US, UK, Australia, Canada, Europe and Singapore with their data centers in the US.

They say you get what you pay for – In this case it seems you can get good service for far less.

Is Kevin Rudd Trying To Outlaw Home Births?

By Les Scammell, August 12, 2009 12:42 am

Giving birth! What could be more natural. Women have been doing it for ten’s of thousands of years – without doctors. The only help they had was from other women who had been through it all before – the original midwives.

The Australian government has for some reason taken a dislike to home births and midwives. For a midwife to participate in a home birth, the need to be registered. The governments proposal is that midwives can only be registered if they have indemnity insurance.

Problem – no insurance company is prepared to offer indemnity insurance to midwives participating in home deliveries. No insurance, no registration, no more home births.

What a ridiculous situation. Home births have proven to be very successful in Britain. Rather than making life difficult for midwives, we should be supporting them and encouraging the practice. Furthermore, with only 200 midwives participating in home births, we should be working to increase that number five or six times.

Just think of how much money can be saved by not having to take up hospital beds. Wake up Kevin – think forward not backward – but then, he is a male, perhaps he just doesn’t understand childbirth. But then, I am a male too, but I certainly support home births for those who want it.

I have written a fuller post on home birthing on my parenting site – feel free to visit and comment.
