1000 Blog Protest

This is my version of a blog petition.

I hope to get 1000 bloggers to add their blogs to the 1000 Blog Protest Against The Slaughter Of Whales campaign.

If you find this photo distressing then please add your blog. At the very least you will get a link back to your site.

No strings. You do not have to a write a post pointing to this post (although any promotions for this campaign would be welcome).

To join this campaign just leave a comment with the blog URL(s) you want linked. Please also leave your country so that I can sort all the blogs into regions.

Join the Blog Against Whaling Campaign

By adding your comments to this page you are agreeing to have your blogs URL placed on the Blog Against Whaling Blogroll.

By adding your comments to this page you are supporting the call to stop all harvesting of whales in the name of research by the Japanese government.

By adding your comments to this page you condemning the slaughter of this baby whale along with all other whales.

My thanks to all who decided to join this protest. A list of all the blogs that agreed to sign up can be found on the Anti Whaling Blog Signatories page.

  4. This issue should not go unnoticed. I am a co-founder of an Internet Marketing company in Toronto, Ontario and one of our major clients is Ontario Nature, a not for profit organization that protects and restores natural habitats through research, education and conservation. Although this is not an Ontario issue, the voice of our province and country can carry a lot of weight, sign me up. I will also be speaking with our other clients about this and direct them here as well.

  5. Sign me up. I am assuming that it is all right to use the photo in your post in my post. Please give me a shout if I am wrong.

    Thanks.

  6. Japan, the world’s only victim of a nuclear strike – twice – has risen from the ashes of war to be a forward-thinking, peaceful, role model for the rest of the world. EXCEPT on the issue of whaling. Move on, Japan, don’t let one very negative issue cloud your reputation as an admired global citizen!

  7. Signing of course!
I respect their culture as much as I respect any one else’s culture, but it has gone over and excessive. This is not even an issue of culture and respect anymore.

  8. More than pleased to add my name and blog to this petition. I have bookmarked your page and shall return when I get a post up.

  9. There is a song by Roberto Carlos, a Portuguese/Spanish language singer, that addresses the life of a whale and the whaler. It asks the whaler what will they tell their grandchildren when they see the whale in books and on TV and ask if those creatures really existed. It’s always been one of my favorite songs.

  10. Como es posible que soporte tu conciencia, Mirar los ojos de quien muera frente a ti, Y ver al mar que se devate suplicante, Y hasta sentirte un vencedor en ese instante

How is it possible for your conscience to support, Looking into the eyes of one dying before you, And seeing the see churn in its plea, And you still feel like a victor at that moment

Please add my blog to your list: http://garden.earthformed.com from USA

  11. We would be honored to have our site added to this list. While we are a sports blog, we also are environmentalists and that definitely includes whales. After having a season pass to the Georgia Aquarium when it first opened, I was disheartened when a couple of the whales succumbed to fatal diseases (I believe two belugas and a whale shark have each died in the past two years.)

  13. Great idea and a definite worthy cause. I have included a post on different blogs so you count each one as a new one. Will do what I can to get the word out… this is truly disgusting.

  15. Being vegetarian, I am against fishing not only whaling, but it’s obvious the impact is big as it’s size against the ecology in comparison to fish.

  16. This needs to be stopped. They are going to drive the whale to extinction just like they did to their Yangtze River dolphins.

  17. As a Flower Smeller, I would be honoured to be part of this campaign. Whale killing has to be stopped..I am from Malaysia..We don’t eat whales here but then again the awareness of whaling is almost non-existence and I have been taking part in other campaigns as well mostly by panda.org..

  18. I’ve always been against hunting of ANY kind of animal so to see a photo like that, particularly one that involves a baby animal, really riles me. And for what, under the guise of “research?” They’re despicable!

  19. USA – Whaling is not a viable sustaining practice that is environmentally unsound. Even the most basic idiot should be able to see that continuing it will drive the species into extinction.
