Anti Barbie .Net

I really do have a liking for black backgrounds - particularly when the content is coordinated well, and antibarbie has done it well.

The articles are well written and interesting interspersed with neat photos and graphics.

It is not a content rich site, more of a ‘day in the life of’ blog, but that is what makes blogging fun and interesting to read.

The side bar is clean and tidy with no apparent advertising. One of the things I have noticed with a lot of sites has been the wrapping of the text around graphics and photos. What is needed is some padding of around 10 pixels. I will write another article on this topic to give bloggers a few ideas on how to fix the problem.

All in all this is a really nice site and well worth a visit.

    Hello,

Thank you very much for taking the time to visit and review my humble lil blog. I am a bit confused about the It is not a content rich site part, because there is plenty of content on my blog. Sure, I have some of the sillier stuff up there such as memes but I am a daily blogger so I can afford to take a day or two a week to use for those fun kinds of things. However, on my more serious days, I’ve written about everything from Google, views on society and poetry to short stories, atheism and yes, my life.

Now if my site was just mostly fluff and ads with little depth, then the content part would make sense but the fact that a blog is of personal nature, does not negate the content. Especially since blogs were originally created to be used as journals, not as learning tools.

To add padding one just needs to add one simple line into an image’s html code hspace=”number here” although in wordpress there is an option to do so right in the editor they provide for you, I am not however sure about blogger. I really wish that more people choosing to own blogs, would at least attempt to learn basic html tags just so that they can hard code things when they need to.

    Thanks again for the review.

    Hi
Thanks for visiting and reading the review. Perhaps I am a little harsh saying its not content rich - its a term I use to describe sites that are dedicated to one topic and really put a lot of in depth information related to that one topic.

I will re-phrase that aspect next time. Your site is full of content and I enjoyed visiting it. It got my site of the day nomination and its definately not full of fluff.

As to the pictures, your right, it only takes the addition of a simple piece of html to fix. You can use hspace and vspace but I will go into that in more depth in another article. I agree that if you are going to blog seriously then you need to learn some code to fine tune what you do. I also think that some blogs are so good they deserve their own domain, and not as part of another - but it is personal choice.
    cheers
