Sub Lumen

Site Name: Sub Lumen
Site URL: http://www.sublumen.com/
Genre: Politics
Look and Feel:
The side bars look very busy however the page itself looks good. Interesting to see (at the time of writing) that the first article is a food one - on a site predominantly about politics.
Content:
Very well written and quite informative digs at politics, politicians and any else related to politics although the first two articles would leave you wondering. Great use of photos and graphics.
Ease of Use:
The sidebars are very busy with plenty of widgets which can be a little confusing - along with the graphics, they tend to slow the load speed as well. The content is easy to read - commenting, RSS and email links are all easy to access.
Suggestions:
I would archive some of the older articles or reduce them to previews if the template allows to reduce the length of the page. The shorter the page the faster the load times. It is rare that visitors will scroll to far down a page - generally, when the sidebar content stops so does the visitors interest. I could not find any meta keywords - you may improve your PR with their inclusion.
Conclusion:
Don’t be fooled by the lead articles. Dig a little deeper and there are some very good quality articles. If you are into current events of a political nature then this is one of those sites that are worth subscribing to the RSS feeds.
